They called it the unbeatable engine
The HEMI name is synonymous with racing, the brand is about as iconic as it gets for vintage race fans. The thought of a website dedicated just to HEMI had been floating around the halls of the Chrysler HQ in Detroit, MI for a while and finally a small band of rebel CEO’s set fourth on a mission.
The goal was to create a site worthy of the unbeatable engine itself. The site is as much about the early millennium, cutting edge Flash design as it was about research. Countless hours of research where done by the team about the HEMI engine. The entire history was to be displayed and every bit of it had to be perfect. The idea of a site being locked into a RPM Gauge was not met with immediate approval however, when our art director showed off the transition from round to square and back, everybody immediately knew this was the design.
The first version of the site launched after almost a full year in development. It was received by the automotive community and the general public as a bar setting example of web design.
*This site was made in 2004 using Macromedia Flash! The site enjoyed numerous magazine articles, television spots and awards. The project was live from 2004 – 2012.
